There are several differences between motorized and manual hair transplantation. Motorized hair transplantation technique is provided by micro motor device used in FUE technique, while manual hair transplantation is used in hair transplantation like DHI technique.
As the modern techniques of the future in the hair restoration industry are constantly evolving, it has become a common goal to achieve the best results on patients with instruments with advanced medical devices. Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE), which is the latest and most capable method in hair transplantation, enables a wide-scale and rapid hair transplantation operation with minimally invasive operations in the recipient and donor area.
Motorized Hair Transplantation
These include: FUE Extraction Devices: Automatic and Motorized Staplers – FUE Micro Motors
These devices offer a modern way in the extraction process of follicular units by targeting maximum effectiveness in hair uptake and transplantation. Modern equipment used in FUE hair transplantation helps surgeons and hair teams improve their daily work efficiently by providing a better workflow. The automation in the hair transplantation industry and the sharpest feather hair removal staples help doctors increase daily extraction rates and minimize man-made errors that led to a reduction in the number of eager patients of hair transplantation in the past.
Manual Hair Transplantation
Manual extraction (manual staples), on the other hand, provides the surgeon with sensitivity and ease of design, especially in the front hairline design.
Manual hair transplantation techniques are also applied in our hair transplant center and there are several reasons for this. A manual punch allows the surgeon to assess the difference in tissue resistance through sensation. This is particularly important for spread or curved grafts. The resistance of the hair shaft of the hair shaft is different from the surrounding connective tissue. Using manual staples in manual hair transplantation allows the surgeon to feel resistance and stop penetration. Although experienced technicians can adapt and recover some of this feeling with motor staples, this feeling is sometimes unnoticed.
Another feature is the heating of the tissue from the punch. With the motor stapler, the machine uses force to cut, especially when the staple becomes dull. This can easily cause the tissue to twist and is not always noticeable.
Although hand fatigue is said to be common with manual staples, it is the only guaranteed method to achieve the patient’s unique characteristics, including skin sensitivity, graft angle and orientation. Most surgeons, preferably with motorized punches, may say that the rate of transaction is equal to both.
Most people thought that a motor stapler was much faster. However, an experienced manual stapler technician can reach the same speed. However, pricing may be slightly higher as manuel hair transplantation technique requires much more time and effort.
